1. What Nexmi stores
Everything below lives in one MySQL database on the server that runs
nexmi.in. There is no second copy sent anywhere for analysis.
Account
- Your name and email address.
- A hash of your password. The password itself is never stored and cannot be recovered from the hash.
- Your time zone, your notification preferences and the time you last signed in.
- A one-time signup code, as a hash, until it is used or expires.
What you write
- Tasks: the title, your original sentence, the deadline, how firm it is, importance, category and status.
- The steps a task waits on, and whether each one is still pending.
- Reminders that were scheduled or sent, and what you did with each one: done, forgot, snoozed or dismissed.
- A per-category count of how often things like it were completed late or forgotten. This is what makes the reminders arrive earlier for the kinds of task you actually let slip.
Devices and requests
- For each phone signed in: the Firebase messaging token, the platform, the device model and the app version, so a notification can reach it.
- A SHA-256 hash of your login token. The token itself is only on your phone.
- The IP address a request arrives from, used to count requests inside a short time window and stop abuse. It is not attached to your tasks.
2. Why each piece is needed
Nexmi decides when to speak up instead of asking you to pick a time.
That decision needs the deadline, the steps in the way, how much the
task matters and how often you have forgotten similar things. Remove
any one of those and the app goes back to being an alarm clock.
Your email address is used for the signup code, for password resets
and for replies when you write to support. It is not used for
marketing, and there is no mailing list.
3. What the AI sees
Two things in Nexmi use a language model: reading the sentence you
typed into a structured task, and answering a question you ask the
assistant. Both happen only when you trigger them.
- The text sent to OpenAI is the sentence or question you just wrote, plus the tasks needed to answer it.
- OpenAI processes the request through its API. API data is not used to train its models.
- The request, the structured result, the model name and the time it took are stored in your account so the app can show you what it understood and so a bad reading can be traced.
- Nothing is sent to OpenAI in the background. A task sitting in your list is never re-read.
4. Advertising
Nexmi is free to install and shows ads inside the app to pay for the
server and the AI calls. Ads are served by
Google AdMob, part
of Google, and the ad requests go straight from your phone to
Google. They do not pass through the Nexmi server.
- AdMob receives what it needs to fill an ad slot: your Android advertising ID, the app and its version, coarse device and locale information, and the IP address of the request. Google's own privacy policy governs what it does with that.
- AdMob never receives the contents of your tasks, your reminders, your name or your email address. Nothing you type into Nexmi is used to pick an ad, and Nexmi does not build an advertising profile of you or sell your data.
- You control the advertising ID from Android Settings, under Privacy, where you can reset it or delete it to opt out of personalised ads. Where consent is required by law, the app asks before requesting personalised ads and you can change that answer later.
- Ads are the only place a third party sees anything about your device without you triggering it. There is nothing else running in the background.
5. Who else receives data
Four services are involved, each for one job, and each receives only
what that job needs.
- OpenAI, for the two features above. It receives the text you wrote at the moment you ask.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging, from Google, to deliver notifications. It receives the notification title and body plus your device token.
- Google AdMob, to fill the ad slots, as described in section 4.
- The hosting provider that runs the server and the database, and the mail provider that sends the signup and reset emails.
There are no analytics SDKs in the app, no tracking pixels on this
site and no data brokers. Nexmi does not sell or rent your data, and
it would only disclose it if a valid legal order required it.
6. How long it is kept
- Tasks, reminders and your account stay until you delete them or delete your account.
- Signup codes expire on their own and are then unusable.
- Rate-limit counters cover a short window and are overwritten as it moves.
- Server logs hold request errors for troubleshooting and are rotated by date.
7. Your control and deletion
You can edit or delete any task or reminder in the app at any time,
and change your name, email, password and notification preferences
from Settings.
Deleting your account is in Settings. It removes your account, your
tasks, their steps and events, your reminders, your behaviour
counters, your saved assistant interactions, your login tokens and
your registered devices. The deletion is immediate and it cannot be
undone. If you would rather it be done for you, write to
support@nexmi.in
from the address on the account.
You can also ask for a copy of what is stored about you, or ask for
a correction, at the same address.
8. How it is protected
- Traffic between the app and the server runs over HTTPS.
- Passwords, signup codes and login tokens are stored only as hashes, so a database copy cannot be replayed against the API.
- Every API request is scoped to the account that made it, and the database enforces the same ownership through foreign keys.
- No system is perfect. If a breach ever affects your data, you will be told at the address on your account.
9. Children
Nexmi is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not
knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has an account,
write to us and it will be removed.
10. Changes to this policy
If what Nexmi collects or who processes it changes, this page is
updated and the date at the top changes with it. A change that
affects you materially will also be announced in the app before it
takes effect.
11. Contact
Nexmi is operated from India. For anything in this policy, including
access and deletion requests, write to
support@nexmi.in.
Mail is answered by a person.
The companion document is the
terms of use, which covers
what Nexmi promises and what it does not.
