Terms of use

The short version.

Nexmi is free to install, it holds your deadlines, and it tries hard to speak up in time. It is a tool, not a guarantee, and the clauses below say exactly where that line falls.

Last updated 16 September 2026|Applies to the Nexmi Android app and to nexmi.in

1. The agreement

These terms are between you and Nexmi, operated from India. Creating an account or using the app means you accept them. If you do not, do not create an account, and delete the app.

You need to be 13 or older to use Nexmi. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with the agreement of a parent or guardian.

2. Your account

  • One account per person. Give a real email address, because the signup code and any password reset go there.
  • Keep your password to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
  • Tell us at support@nexmi.in if you think somebody else has access, and change your password.
  • Accounts are for people, not for automated clients sharing one login.

3. How you may use Nexmi

Use it for your own reminders, as much as you like. What is not allowed:

  • Breaking into other accounts, or reading data that is not yours.
  • Attacking the service: scraping it, flooding the API past the published rate limits, or probing it for weaknesses without permission.
  • Reselling access, or putting the API behind another product.
  • Storing content that is illegal where you or we are, or using Nexmi to harass somebody.
  • Reverse engineering the service to rebuild it, except where that right cannot be waived by law.

Accounts that do these things can be suspended, and an account used to attack the service will be closed.

4. What you write stays yours

Your tasks, notes and questions belong to you. Nexmi claims no ownership of them. The only permission you give is the one the app needs to work: to store your content, process it to decide when to remind you, and pass the text you submit to the services named in the privacy policy.

Your content is not used to train any model, and it is not shown to other users. There is no sharing feature.

5. Reminders are best effort

This is the clause that matters most. Nexmi schedules a reminder and hands it to Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging for delivery. Whether it reaches you in time also depends on your network, your battery settings, Android's own restrictions on background apps and the permissions you granted.

So Nexmi does not promise that every reminder will arrive, or that it will arrive at a particular second. Do not use it as the only safeguard for something where a missed deadline causes serious harm, such as medication, legal filings or a flight. It is a reminder app, not a safety system.

6. AI-assisted reading

When Nexmi reads your sentence into a task, or answers a question, it uses a language model. Models misread things. That is why the app shows you what it understood and asks you to confirm before saving, and why every field stays editable afterwards. Check the deadline it picked, and correct it when it is wrong.

Assistant answers are drawn from your own saved tasks. They are not advice, and they can be incomplete.

7. Price, ads and availability

Nexmi is free to install and use. There is no subscription and no paid tier at the moment. The app carries ads instead, served by Google AdMob, and they pay for the server and the AI calls that read your sentences. What an ad partner receives is set out in the privacy policy; the contents of your tasks are not part of it.

Do not interfere with the ads: hiding them, blocking the requests, faking clicks or automating them breaks these terms and can close your account. If a paid ad-free plan is ever introduced, the features you already rely on will not be taken away without notice in the app.

The service is provided as it is, without a warranty of any kind. It can be down for maintenance, a provider outage or a bug, and features can change or be withdrawn as the product develops.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Nexmi is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for anything you missed because a reminder did not arrive, arrived late or was read incorrectly. Because the app is free, total liability for any claim connected with it is limited to what you paid for it, which is nothing.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud.

9. Ending the agreement

You can leave at any time by deleting your account in Settings, which removes your data as described in the privacy policy. We can suspend or close an account that breaks section 3, or stop offering Nexmi entirely, in which case reasonable notice will be given so you can copy out what you need.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms can change as the product does. The date at the top moves with any change, and a material one is announced in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Nexmi after that means you accept the new version.

11. Governing law

Indian law governs these terms, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If a clause is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.

The companion document is the privacy policy, which covers what is stored and how to have it deleted.
